Theme: Promoting sustainable development goals through research and innovations.

Aims of the conference

  • Professional development and capacity building of its members
  • Increasing the contribution of Research and Innovations to socio-economic transformation of societies
  • Increase uptake of research findings in policy formulation
  • Build effective collaborations and networks for the next generation of researchers, policy makers and stakeholders


The first two days, Saturday and Sunday will be for half-day workshops and the rest of the programme will be taken up by Concurrent sessions, opening ceremony, exhibitions and the EARIMA annual general meeting (Full programme will be uploaded on the website soon).


  1. Half day workshops: Morning and afternoon workshops on Saturday and Sunday run from 9.00 am to 12.30 pm and from 2.00 pm to 5.30 pm respectively.
  2. Concurrent sessions will run for 1.5hrs (one and half hours).
  3. Exhibitions will be open all the time during the conference. They can be visited at lunch time, evening tea and on day 4 between 4.00 and 5.30 pm

Institutional Innovators    –            UGX 200,000

Individual Innovators        –             UGX 100,000

Suggested timelines/deadlines

  1. Call for expression of interest to conduct a half-day workshop 
  2. Closing of receipt of abstracts by 31st May 2016
  3. Feed back on submitted abstracts by 15th July 2016
  4. Submission of full presentations by 31st July 2016
  5. Registration by 15th August 2016
